As it is accounted in esoteric traditions that Nimrod, the first of the despot kings and the first type of antiChrist, was a giant, being a descendant of Ham, it would be to your benefit to understand that the Bible references many giant’s during that time and afterwards.

Genesis {6:4} There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.

note: The Book of Enoch, which is referenced in the New Testament, confirms that the giant’s were the offspring of the fallen angels and women of the earth.

Nimrod, who was the grandson of Ham (the son of Cush, who was the son of Ham), was the first to build great cities after the flood, and was the one who caused the people to rebel against God and build the tower of Babel. This was so they could prevent the future flooding of the Earth again (forgetting that God had made a covenant with Noah to never flood the Earth again), and to do battle with the hosts of Heaven.

In esoteric traditions, it is told that Ham had married one of the daughter’s that were the outcome of the Giants in the pre-flood times, and therefore any descendant’s that Ham had would have traces of the Giant’s in them. Some esoteric tradition’s say that Nimrod himself was a Giant (being a descendant of Ham). Ham had also stolen the animal (leopard) skin’s that God had clothed Adam and Eve, their being handed down to Noah through the line of Seth, and Noah handing them down to Shem. Ham then gave them to Nimrod, and this was why he was such a mighty hunter.

Now, Abraham was born during the time of Nimrod, and in the Legends of the Jew’s, it is told that Nimrod tried to have Abraham killed, being foretold that Abraham would be the cause of his death. Other traditions say that Esau came out against Nimrod (who was still alive) and killed his two guards, then cut off his head and took the leopard skin’s off of Nimrod.

Regardless, after the time of Abraham, and the time of Moses comes, we find many references to giants. In books from Genesis to Deuteronomy, during the review of the Israelite’s 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, Moses recounts the different giant’s they encountered and that God brought to destruction:

Genesis{14:4} Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. {14:5} And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that [were] with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim
Note: Rephaims and Emims were all remnant’s of the Giants of pre-flood and descendants of Ham thru the land of Syria.

In the book of Numbers, it is told how the Israelites sent spies into Canaan and they came back with reports of Giants:
Numbers {13:32} And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it [are] men of a great stature. {13:33} And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

2nd Book of Samuel {17:4} And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height [was] six cubits and a span.

(All passages from Deuteronomy):
{2:10} The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; {2:11} Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims [dreaded ones].

the next passages refer to Zamzummims, Anakims, Horims, and Avims, all types of Giants
{2:21} That also (Land of Ammonites) was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; {2:21} A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and Horims dwelt in their stead: {2:22} As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: {2:23} And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, [even] unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)

{3:11} For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead [was] a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
(9 cubits = approximately 14 feet)
Note: Og was alive at the time of Noah, and survived until his defeat by Moses…he was of Syrian origin.

{3:13} And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, [being] the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.

From the Book of Joshua:
{12:4} And the coast of Og king of Bashan, [which was] of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,

{15:8} And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same [is] Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

{17:15} And Joshua answered them, If thou [be] a great people, [then] get thee up to the wood [country,] and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.

{18:16} And the border came down to the end of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of the son of Hinnom, [and] which [is] in the valley of the giants on the north,

Second Book of Samuel:
{21:16} And Ishbi-benob, which [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear [weighed] three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight (approx 10 lbs), he being girded with a new [sword,] thought to have slain David.

{21:18} And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which [was] of the sons of the giant.

{21:19} And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver’s beam.

{21:20} And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

{21:22} These four were born to the giant  in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.

1st Book of Chronicles:

{11:22}Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lion-like men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.
{11:23} And he slew an Egyptian, a man of [great] stature, five cubits high; [approx 7 1/2 feet tall] and in the Egyptian’s hand [was] a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.

{20:4} And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, [that was] of the children of the giant: and they were subdued. (note: Sippai is the same as Saph)

The Book of Amos:

{2:9} – Yet destroyed [it was I who destroyed] I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

If, as a Christian, we believe the Bible as the unerring word of God, then we must believe that at one time, there were Giant’s that roamed the land. The Giant offspring, came from the fallen angels, and thus are evil. Now, let us consider the undeniable fact that there is technology today that could bring back the giants through cloning…

Here is a recent story from the Seattle Times and the NY Times where scientists say they could clone woolly mammoths.
“,,,Scientists are talking for the first time about the old idea of resurrecting extinct species as if this staple of science fiction is a realistic possibility, saying that a living mammoth could perhaps be regenerated for as little as $10 million…”

That’s not the scary part, as Christians. In the NY Times article, the second paragraph states:
“…The same technology could be applied to any other extinct species from which one can obtain hair, horn, hooves, fur or feathers, and which went extinct within the last 60,000 years, the effective age limit for DNA…”

Now, as a Christian, we know that the time of the Giant’s was no more than 6000 years ago (give or take a thousand here or there). This means, that IF the scientists have found remain’s of a giant, THEN they WILL try and clone it. Look at this article on the ethical considerations of cloning a neanderthal man: (I wont debate the existence of cave men)…

Given that scientist’s believe they could do it, what would stop them or even make then not want to create/clone a giant?   Up through the 1800’s, scientist’s largely believed their work was in perfect harmony with the Bible.  Thus, it is incredulous to think that evidence (remains) of giant’s have never been discovered.   If we are to assume that they WERE discovered, they have been hidden and kept secret.  Regardless, if they are being kept somewhere, scientist’s today WILL attempt to clone them.  Thus, we find that the true prophetic sense of Jesus’s words of how the end times would look:

“{17:26} And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”

Remember that, in the Day’s of Noah, there were giant’s in the land…that is why God brought the flood, to cleanse the Earth of the wickedness that the Giant’s brought about through corruption…
